Can telemedicine help patients in need through on-demand health workers?

Telemedicine is the practice of using information and communication technology to provide health services remotely. In Indonesia, telemedicine is becoming increasingly popular to increase access to health services, especially in hard-to-reach areas. This platform provides various health services such as doctor consultations, medical examinations, medication, and drug delivery. Patients can consult with doctors by phone or mobile application. Doctors can provide prescription drugs to be picked up at the nearest pharmacy or delivered directly to the patient's home.

The Indonesian government has issued several regulations to regulate telemedicine practice in Indonesia, such as Minister of Health Regulation Number 20 of 2016 concerning Telemedicine. This regulation governs the licensing and use of telemedicine technology, service standards and qualifications of health care providers. Although some challenges and problems need to be overcome, telemedicine can potentially increase access to health services in Indonesia, especially in areas that are difficult to reach through traditional health services.

Then, can On-Demand health workers be able to help patients in need? Yes, health workers can help On-Demand health services by becoming available health service providers to provide On-Demand services which are usually online or mobile application based, which allows patients to access health services quickly and easily without having to go to a health facility directly. Healthcare workers can join the on-demand healthcare platform and become available service providers to provide consultation, treatment or medical care at the patient's home or via telemedicine. They can assist patients by providing diagnosis, treatment and medical advice as needed and monitoring the patient's condition regularly.

In addition, health workers can also help by providing health education and accurate medical information to assist patients in managing their health. They can also help by providing emotional and psychological support to needy patients.

Therefore, with telemedicine, patients can get access to health services that are easier and more affordable, and doctors can provide health services more efficiently and effectively.
