Telemedicine has brought significant changes in the field of dentistry, especially in the aspects of diagnosis and consultation. With this technology, patients no longer need to come directly to the clinic to get an initial consultation. Dentists can analyze patient complaints through images or video calls, so they can provide initial treatment recommendations before further action is taken.

One of the main advantages of telemedicine in dentistry is time and cost efficiency. Patients who have limited mobility or live in remote areas can easily access services without having to travel far. In addition, telemedicine allows doctors to provide education on oral hygiene and monitoring dental conditions after certain procedures.

However, there are several limitations in the application of telemedicine in dentistry. An accurate diagnosis still requires direct examination, such as dental x-rays or palpation of the area experiencing complaints. In addition, limited technology and connectivity in some areas are still challenges in the widespread implementation of this service. Therefore, telemedicine in dentistry needs to be combined with direct visits to ensure the quality of diagnosis and treatment remains optimal.
