The postpartum period is a crucial period that requires not only physical recovery, but also mental and emotional balance. Many new mothers experience mood swings, anxiety, and even postpartum depression. This condition is often not directly visible, but can have a serious impact on the mother's quality of life, the baby's development, and family relationships. Unfortunately, many mothers are still reluctant or unable to access mental health services due to limited time, energy, costs, or lack of social support.

In this context, the presence of on-demand health workers through teletherapy and digital consultation services is a breath of fresh air for postpartum mothers. On-demand health workers refer to psychologists, psychiatrists, or professional counselors who are available through online platforms and can be accessed flexibly whenever needed. This is very helpful for mothers who have difficulty leaving the house because they have to care for their babies or go through the postpartum period.

With only a device such as a cellphone or laptop and an internet connection, mothers can conduct consultation sessions via video call, text message, or voice call. This flexibility provides a safe and comfortable space for mothers to express feelings, manage anxiety, and receive emotional support without feeling judged or burdened.

Research shows that online mental health services are as effective as face-to-face therapy, especially for treating stress, anxiety, and mild to moderate depressive symptoms. Digital therapy is also more accessible and quick, so mothers can get help when needed, including in psychological emergencies.

These on-demand services are generally equipped with additional features such as mental health education, daily journals, mood tracking, and online group support. All of these play an important role in increasing self-awareness and accelerating the mother's mental recovery process.

However, challenges such as limited internet access, lack of digital literacy, and the need for direct interaction still need to be considered. Therefore, collaboration between health workers, families, and community service institutions is very important to ensure that postpartum mothers receive comprehensive and ongoing mental support.

Overall, support by on-demand health workers is an effective, flexible, and inclusive approach to supporting the mental health of new mothers. This initiative should be expanded and supported so that more mothers can go through this transition period healthy, strong, and happy.
