Microplastics are small plastic particles that have been found in food, beverages, and even the human body. This microplastic pollution comes from plastic waste that decomposes and enters the food chain through water, air, and seafood. In recent years, many studies have shown that microplastics have spread to various environments, including in bottled drinking water, sea salt, and the fish we consume.

The impact of microplastic consumption on health is still under research, but several studies have shown that these particles can cause digestive disorders, inflammation in the body, and potential hormonal imbalances. In addition, some types of microplastics can carry dangerous chemicals that risk disrupting the immune system and increasing the risk of chronic diseases.

To reduce exposure to microplastics, we can take simple steps such as avoiding the use of single-use plastics, choosing drinking water from safer sources, and reducing the consumption of foods packaged in excessive plastic. In addition, supporting recycling efforts and using environmentally friendly products can also help reduce overall plastic pollution. With these steps, we not only protect our personal health but also contribute to preserving the environment for future generations.
